Canada: Reopening of NEXUS Enrollment Centers

  • Canada and the U.S. reopened all NEXUS enrollment centers on 20 March 2023  
  • Canada reopened 39 land and airport entries into the country on 22 March 2023  

Overview  

The government of Canada, in collaboration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will reopen all NEXUS enrollment centers in Canadian airports throughout the spring of 2023.  To enroll in NEXUS, eligible travelers must: 

  • Complete the Canadian portion of the NEXUS interview at Canadian airport enrollment centers, and 
  • Complete the U.S. portion of the interview at Canadian airport preclearance locations when departing Canada to fly to the U.S.  

Those who need an interview can schedule it through the Trusted Traveller Programs scheduler at these airports when available. For further information on the locations in which travelers can book a NEXUS interview, check here.  

The government of Canada also announced the reopening of 39 land and airport entries into the country and re-established pre-pandemic operational hours. According to the government, these measures will help facilitate travel across Canada at land and airports of entry. For further information on operation hours, check here.   

What are the Changes?  

The government of Canada took several steps to simplify travel measures into the country. According to the government, this program will help to accommodate thousands of travelers who request NEXUS membership.
