Overview
The government of Japan introduced visa waiver measures for nationals of Qatar holding ordinary passports on 24 March 2023. Under the visa waiver agreement, eligible individuals will be permitted to enter Japan for a maximum period of 30 days for business, sightseeing and social visit purposes.
The visa waiver will remain valid for three years from the date of registration or until the holder’s passport expires.
Qualified applicants must register with a Japanese embassy, consulate-general or consular office prior to departure for Japan. For additional information on the registration process and qualifications, check here.

Starting 24 March 2023, Japan will allow Qatar citizens with regular passports to visit for up to 30 days without a visa. According to the government announcement, these measures aim to advance diplomatic relations between Japan and Qatar.
