Turkey: New Monthly Minimum Wage Requirements for Second Half of 2023

• Turkey increased the country’s minimum monthly wage requirements for foreign nationals holding work permits on 1 July 2023   

Overview  

The government of Turkey increased the country’s minimum wage on 1 July 2023. As a result, the gross monthly minimum wage will increase to TRY 13,414.50, and the net minimum monthly wage will increase to TRY 11,402.32. The minimum salary requirements will differ based on position:   

• High-level managers: paid 6.5 times the minimum wage (TRY 87,194.25 gross per month).    
• Department managers, engineers or architects: cannot be paid less than four times the minimum wage (TRY 5,300 gross per month).    
• Positions requiring expertise: paid three times the minimum wage (TRY 40,50 gross per month).    
• All others (for example sales officers and low-level marketing officers): paid 1.5 times the minimum wage TRY 20,121.75 gross per month).    

What are the Changes?   

The government of Turkey will increase the country’s minimum wage on 1 July 2023. According to the government announcement, the increase is a result of inflation rates throughout the country.
