Sweden: Closing of the Fast Track Visa Scheme

  • Sweden will cease processing work permit applications submitted under the Fast Track pathway for registered companies beginning 15 December 2023 

Overview  

The government of Sweden will cease processing work permit applications submitted under the Fast Track pathway for registered companies beginning 15 December 2023. As a result, all applications submitted under this pathway will be handled under regular procedures. Delayed processing times are expected to occur.  

What are the Changes?  

The Swedish government will cease processing work permits under its Fast Track scheme beginning 14 December 2023. Instead, these applications will be processed under regular procedures. The government is expected to transition to a new immigration model beginning 29 January 2024, that aims to provide expedited application services.
