New Zealand: English Translation of Documents

Overview  

The government of New Zealand will require that supporting documents for visitor visas be provided with a certified English translation. This will apply to any documents provided in a language outside of English. Some examples of these document types include: 

• proof of funds — such as bank statements and pay records 
• flight itineraries, including return tickets 
• proof of employment in your home country 
• leave of absence documentation 
• identity documents other than passports  

Previously, applicants were not required to provide a foreign language translation but faced longer processing timelines. According to the announcement, this will create a more efficient visa review process.
