Overview
The government of Quebec, Canada introduced a cap on family reunification applications. Beginning 26 June 2024 to 25 June 2026, Quebec will accept a maximum of 13,000 applications from Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
This includes 10,400 applications for spouses, common-law partners, and dependent children aged 18 or older, and 2,600 applications for parents, grandparents, and other relatives. Once the cap is reached, no more applications will be accepted, except for certain exempt categories like dependent children under 18 and those with disabilities.
