Kazakhstan: New Temporary Residence Permit Requirements
Key Points
- Kazakhstan introduced new requirements for select nationals entering the country under visa-free travel measures
Overview
The government of Kazakhstan now requires nationals of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Moldova, and Eurasian Economic Union countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia) to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit to stay beyond their visa-free periods.
These permits are valid for one year and can be renewed annually for up to five years. Previously, nationals of these countries could register and stay in Kyrgyzstan for six months upon entry. To apply for the permits, applicants must provide additional documents, such as a labor contract or work/residence permit.
