Australia Immigration Reform Measures
Australia introduced several immigration reform measures and released further clarification on the immigration process. These changes include:
- New Core Skills Occupation List (SCOL) includes over 70 new occupations. Categories like ICT support engineers and graphic designers were removed.
- Streamlined Labour Market Testing: Simplified requirements for labor market testing.
- Simplification of Immigration Processes: System-wide improvements to make processes more efficient.
- New Skills Agency: An agency that identifies skills needs.
- New Points System: A points system for permanent skilled migration.
Australia also clarified its visa application fees:
- The base application fee for the primary applicant is $3,115.
- Additional applicants aged 18 and over incur the same fee of $3,115.
- For applicants under 18, the fee is $780.
These fees are applicable for both the Specialist and Core Skills streams.
