Canada: Alberta Provincial Nomination Temporarily Paused

  • Canada paused processing provincial nomination applications submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream until further notice  

Overview  

On 15 February 2024, the Canadian government paused its acceptance of provincial nomination applications submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). The suspension will remain in place until backlogs on current applications are reduced. Applications submitted before 15 February 2024 will continue to be processed, with priority for applications for specific occupations such as those in health care.
