Beginning 31 July 2023, the government of Canada will require IRCC account users set up a multi-factor authentication system if the following circumstances apply:
- The user is utilizing the GCKey to sign into an existing account
- The user is creating an account using GCKey

What are the Changes?
The government of Canada will require certain users to set up a multi-factor authentication procedure when accessing their IRCC account. According to the government announcement, the multi-factor authentication system helps to keep users’ IRCC account more secure.
