Cayman Islands: Reopening of Visa Office in Jamaica

Overview  

The government of the Cayman Islands announced that it will reopen its visa office in Jamaica beginning 1 March 2023. Originally, the office closed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.  

Paper applications, interview applications, and passport endorsements will no longer be accepted. Instead, the office will offer applicants virtual application and processing fee options. Kiosks will also be made available for customers to complete the application online.  

To ensure timely processing, applicants must ensure that their passports are valid for at least six months from their planned arrival date. A travel authorization will be granted via email only for approved visas. 

What are the Changes? 

On 1 March 2023, the Cayman Islands government reopened its visa office in Jamaica after its closure at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. As part of the new changes, the office will no longer accept paper applications, interview applications and passport endorsements. Instead, applicants can opt for virtual application and processing fee options or use kiosks provided to complete their application online.
