China: COVID-19 Entry Measures for Taiwanese Residents

Key Points

  • China reduced COVID-19 travel measures for residents of Taiwan

Overview

Beginning on 1 April 2023, the government of China reduced COVID-19 travel measures for residents of Taiwan.

As a result, travelers will only need to show negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test results from within the previous 24 hours instead of negative PCR test results obtained within 48 hours prior to departure. The government will require travelers to declare the test result when completing the health declaration card at customs.

Travelers arriving from other destinations to the Chinese mainland but transferring to Taiwan will still need to provide negative results of PCR tests taken at the places of departure.

What are the Changes?

The government of China introduced new COVID-19 entry measures for nationals of Taiwan on 1 April 2023.
