China: Expansion of Visa Exempt Travel

  • China introduced temporary visa-exemption measures for nationals of Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg and Switzerland 

Overview  

The government of China introduced temporary visa-exemption measures for nationals of Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg and Switzerland. These measures will remain in effect from 14 March 2024 until 30 November 2024 and permit eligible travelers to enter China for tourism, business and transit purposes with a maximum stay of 15 days. Those who do not meet the visa-free policy requirements from the six countries still need to apply for visas in advance before entering China.
