Colombia: Changes for Visitor Visa Arrival Process
Key Points
- Colombia will no longer require Visitor Visa holders to register with local authorities or apply for a local identity card
Overview
The government of Colombia announced that certain Visitor Visa (V) holders are no longer required to register with local authorities or apply for a local identity card. This change applies to those in the tourism, business, crew, events, diplomatic and international agreement subcategories.
Previously, visitor visa holders who stayed longer than three months had to register in person within 15 days of arrival or visa approval. The new rule simplifies the process for short-term visitors by removing this extra step.
