Colombia introduces new temporary protection permits for select nationals from Venezuela
Overview
The government of Colombia introduced a new Temporary Protection Permit (PPT) certificate for select nationals of Venezuela, who have previously submitted and received a notice of an approved PPT form.
The temporary certificate will enable eligible holders to transit through or exit Colombia while waiting for the final PPT. Certificates are free of charge and will remain valid until 30 April 2023.
To apply, eligible applicants must register through Colombia's migration website and provide proof of a Venezuelan registration number issued by the government of Colombia (RUMV), the number of the identity document which was submitted with the original application and the applicant's birthdate.
What are the Changes?
The government of Colombia introduced a temporary certificate for Venezuelan nationals who are awaiting final delivery of a PPT form. According to the government announcement, the certificate is a temporary measure to help ease the burden experienced by applicants currently waiting for final PPT forms.
