Czech Republic: Digital Nomad Visa Pathways

Overview 

The government of the Czech Republic announced the launch of a digital nomad program for certain foreign nationals. The program will be divided into two pathways.  

  • The first pathway aims to attract highly qualified and top IT professionals. 
    • Initially, this pathway will be open to citizens of Australia, Japan, Canada, South Korea, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the U.S. and Taiwan.  
    • Primary applicants and their family members will be able to apply for a residence permit at the embassies of the Czech Republic abroad. The application will be processed within 45 days from the date of submission. 
  •  The second pathway is intended for select students from Indonesia’s polytechnic schools and will permit eligible students to work in the Czech Republic for up to two years.  
    • This pathway will focus on attracting students to the Škoda Group company as welders, locksmiths, operating mechanics or repairmen.  

What are the Changes?  

The government of the Czech Republic launched a digital nomad visa program for certain foreign nationals. According to the government, this new route aims to help fill labor shortages in the country and create a more competitive market.
