Denmark: Increase Flexibility for Certified Companies

Overview  

The government of Denmark will exempt certain foreign workers from the requirement that wages be paid to a Danish bank account. Foreign nationals now have 90 days to open a Danish bank account, where previously they had 30 days. The exception will include the researcher scheme and the fast-track scheme’s regular amount track, researcher track, education track and short-term track.   

At the same time, the government will extend the job change rules to cover foreign nationals who change their residence without changing jobs. For example, this could be a foreigner who is currently in Denmark on a 1-year residence permit.
