Beginning 1 October 2023, the government of Egypt will no longer allow Canadian nationals and passport holders to obtain a visa on arrival. Instead, Canadian travelers must visit Egypt’s embassy or consulate office in Canada to apply for a visa.
Any electronic visas a Canadian traveler uses to enter Egypt on or after 1 October 2023 will be considered void, and travelers will not be permitted to enter the country.

The government of Egypt will revoke its visa-on-arrival policy for Canadian nationals and passport holders beginning 1 October 2023. According to the announcement, this decision reflects diplomatic disagreements with Canada’s entry policies for Egyptian nationals.
