Overview

The Finnish government commissioned an external audit to ensure all current immigration policies comply with primary immigration laws. The audit found that all laws comply but can be simplified for better use and consistency in application.

As a result of the findings, the government intends to introduce a new organizational structure at the beginning of 2024. Some changes under the structure will include simplifying terminology, training staff and introducing a new technical platform where guidelines can be found more easily.
