Overview
The government of Ireland introduced a new 12 week timeline for the submission of Irish Residence Permits (IRP) card renewal applications. The government had previously only allowed IRP renewal applications to be submitted four weeks prior to the card’s expiration.
Currently, the government is processing renewal applications submitted from the week of 30 November 2022. Renewal applications submitted after this date are in queue and will be processed accordingly.
The government advised that once approved, the delivery of new cards can take up to two weeks. For information on the delayed delivery of IRP cards, check here.
What are the Changes?
The government of Ireland updated its acceptance timeline for the renewal of permission applications for expiring IRP cards. According to the government, this timeline has been expanded to allow sufficient time for IRP renewals to be processed.
