The government of Ireland is currently conducting a review of the occupations on the Critical Skills Occupation List and Ineligible Occupation List for employment permits. The government encourages employers and other stakeholders to make any submissions and recommendations for occupations to be added to the list to the Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail.
18 August 2023 is the latest date to send any submissions. Submissions should highlight:
- A skill or labor shortage or surplus occupation in the country;
- Information on recruitment efforts undertaken, retention difficulties, relevant training incentives, impact on business, expansion plans, etc.
What are the Changes?
The Irish government is conducting a review of occupations listed on the Critical Skills Occupation List and Ineligible Occupation list. According to the government, these measures aim to reduce labor shortages in specific industries throughout the country.
