Israel: Potential Consular Office Closures and Delays

Key Points

  • Israel stated that Israeli consulate offices across the globe may pause operations on the issuance of passports to Israeli nationals

Overview

The government of Israel issued a notice that Israeli consulate offices across the globe are expected to pause the issuance of passports to Israeli nationals. Some of these offices include consulate posts in the United States, Nepal, offices throughout Europe and more.

For information on specific embassy closures, impacted individuals are advised to check the consulate office’s website in their country of current residence.

What are the Changes?

The Israeli government noted that many consular posts will temporarily close at the start of June 2023. According to the announcement, these closures are a result of embassy worker strikes due to poor working and wage conditions.
