Italy: Electronic Residence Cards Required for EU Family Members

Overview  

The government of Italy will require that all residence cards held by European Union (EU) family members be updated from a paper format to a new electronic format by 3 August 2023. The electronic residence card’s current fee rate is €30.46. Applicants can submit payments at an Italian post office or police station.

The new electronic residence card is valid for 5 years when applying for the first issue and for minors under 18 years of age.
