Nigeria: Foreign National Quota Monthly Returns

Overview  

The government of Nigeria issued a notice requiring all companies to submit their monthly foreign national quota returns to the eCITIBIZ portal by December 2023. Foreign national quota returns include positions held by foreign nationals and vacant positions. Companies that do not submit this information by December 2023 will face strict penalty fees. Any company that fails to submit their quota returns within this number of days from the following month will pay:  

  • After the first 10 Days – N100,000.  
  • After 20 Days – N150,000.  
  • After 25 Days – N200,000.

What are the Changes?  

The government of Nigeria will require all employers to submit their quota return numbers by December 2023. Failure to submit this information will result in strict penalty fees that vary depending on how late the submission is.
