Overview
The government of Portugal’s consular service centers launched video call assistance services on 15 September 2023. The service supports Portuguese citizens living abroad to carry out online services available on the ePortugal portal. Services offered through video calls include the following:
- Renew your Citizen Card (for people with Portuguese citizenship aged 25 or over)
- Change the address on your Citizen Card
- Confirm the address on the Citizen Card
- Activate Digital Mobile Key
- Change the data associated with the Digital Mobile Key
- Activate the Digital Mobile Key digital signature
- Request a Portuguese criminal record certificate for individuals
- Renew your Portuguese driving license
- Consult the history of road traffic offenses in Portugal
- Consult the points on the Portuguese driving license

The government of Portugal expanded its digital service portal to include additional possibilities to request certain identification and immigration document types.
