Overview
The government of South Africa expanded its Critical Skills list on 3 October 2023. As a result, two additional healthcare occupations, including veterinarians and veterinary nurses, have been included under the Special Medical Practitioner section.
In addition, the list extends to individuals with engineering degrees or equivalent experience. These individuals must be registered with a relevant professional body or board list on South Africa’s Qualifications Authority Professional Body. The hiring organization must also be locally qualified.
