South Africa Extends Temporary Visa Concessions
Key Points
- South Africa extended temporary visa concessions to 30 September 2025 to address delays in processing waiver applications, visa approvals and appeals
Visa Concessions Extended in South Africa
South Africa announced a temporary extension of visa concessions until 30 September 2025 to manage delays in processing applications and appeals. This includes waivers, long-term visa applications, and appeals under Section 30(1)(h) of the Immigration Act.
Eligible applicants can maintain their current visa status during this period and, in some cases, leave and re-enter the Republic without penalties. Non-visa-exempt applicants will require port-of-entry visas for re-entry.
These measures aim to alleviate the backlog while maintaining immigration compliance. Permanent residence applicants are not covered by this concession.
