South Korea: Launch of Remote Work Visa

  • South Korea introduced a new two-year digital nomad visa on 1 January 2024  

Overview  

The South Korean government launched a digital nomad visa on 1 January 2024. The visa permits a maximum period of stay of up to two years for foreign nationals employed by a company located outside of the country.  

Eligible applicants will be required to apply at a Korean embassy in their country of residence and provide proof of an annual income that is twice South Korea’s per capita gross national income (GNI).
