Sri Lanka: Expanded Visa-Free Travel

  • Sri Lanka will implement visa-free travel for tourism purposes to nationals of China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan until 31 March 2024 

Overview  

The government of Sri Lanka will implement visa-free travel for tourism purposes to nationals of China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan until 31 March 2024. Nationals of these countries will be required to apply for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. The scheme will grant a stay for a maximum period of 30 days with multiple entries.   

What are the Changes?  

The government of Sri Lanka will temporarily expand visa-free travel options for select nationals in the coming weeks.
