State Department Issues October Visa Bulletin

NOTE:  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will use the Dates for Filing chart for the October 2024 Visa Bulletin. Please check the USCIS website for more information.      

Overview        

The State Department has released the October 2024 Visa Bulletin.  USCIS will use the Dates for Filing chart for employment-based categories.  The updates below reflect changes in employment-based categories.          

What are the Changes?        

In October 2024, there is advancement in many employment-based categories compared to the September 2024 Visa Bulletin. In contrast to September, October will use the Dates for Filing chart. 

EB-1           

India will advance over 2 months to Apr. 15, 2022, and China remains at Jan. 1, 2023. 

All other countries will remain current.  

EB-2       

China will advance four months to Oct. 1, 2020. India will move ahead nearly six months to Jan. 1, 2013.  

All other countries will move ahead nearly five months to Aug. 1, 2023.  

EB-3             

India will advance over seven months to June 8, 2013. China will retrogress by eight months to Nov. 15, 2020.   

All other countries will move ahead by one or two months to Mar. 1, 2023.
