Taiwan: Changes to the Conditions for APRC and ARC Issuances

Overview 

The authorities of Taiwan introduced a new period of stay requirements and other changes to its Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC) and Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) procedures. The following conditions must be met to qualify for these certificates: 

  • APRC applicants must reside in Taiwan for at least five years with an average stay of 183 days per year.  
  • Dependent children under the age of 18 and spouses of APRC applicants will now be eligible to apply for residency. Applicants must be in Taiwan for a period of five years with an average stay of 183 days per year.  

What are the Changes?
