Taiwan: e-Gates Expanded

Streamlined Traveler Clearance with Taiwan’s New e-Gate System 

Starting 1 January 2025, Taiwan’s e-Gate system will allow R.O.C. nationals aged 10 or older, including those without household registration, to use the service. The new system integrates registration and clearance into one step using facial recognition and optional fingerprint capture. 

By the end of 2024, 49 new e-Gates will be operational at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, with additional installations in 2025. The goal is to streamline the clearance process and enhance traveler efficiency.
