The Czech Republic: Expanded Health Insurance Options for Travelers

Overview
As of 20 September 2023, the government of the Czech Republic expanded the number of healthcare insurance companies authorized to provide service to foreign nationals in the Czech Republic. As a result, long-term and short-term stay visa holders will have additional insurance options while traveling or residing in the country.
Additionally, the government updated the amount of indemnity is also changing. Until now, the contracted limit for one insured accident had to be at least EUR 60,000, without the participation of the insured person on the costs. The limit has now increased to EUR 400,000.
