The Netherlands: New Visa Minimum Salary Requirements

  • Beginning 1 January 2025, the Netherlands will increase its foreign national visa category minimum salary requirements by approximately 6.7%  

Increase Salary Requirement by Visa Category  

The Netherlands will introduce new salary criteria for highly skilled foreign nationals and their visas beginning 1 January 2025. According to Envoy Global’s Dutch team, this marks an increase of approximately 6.7%. The amounts by visa category are as follows:  

Type  Salary criteria 2024 gross a month excluding holiday allowance  Salary criteria 2025 gross a month excluding holiday allowance 
Highly skilled migrants reduced salary criterion  EUR 2.801,-  EUR 2.989,- 
Highly skilled migrants younger than 30 years of age  EUR 3.909,-  EUR 4.171,- 
Highly skilled migrants of 30 years of age and older  EUR 5.331,-  EUR 5.688,- 
European Blue Card reduced salary criterion  EUR 4.265,-  EUR 4.551,- 
European Blue Card salary criterion  EUR 5.331,-  EUR 5.688,-
